This day is forever in the history of Indian football.
For the first time a team consisting entirely of junior players – 16, 17 and 18 years old- debuted at the Indian League and won in the opening match to the Chennai team by 3-0. Thus is ensured the competitive continuation of the U-17 team that played the World Cup and later the Asian qualification of U19 team. Now playing with the name of INDIAN ARROWS. I have struggled a lot to convince the AIFF officials to register the team at this competition because I am sure it will be the only way for this generation to get more and better competitive experience and, regardless of the sporting results, to have significant results in the medium term.
Having already experienced a similar situation in Senegal, with Etoile Lusitana but at the second league level, I’m very proud to face this challenge in India with only 8 months of work.
